Have you done a Windows file check to see if it finds anything ? But then I tried downloading a different one (AVG), and that downloaded succesfully. I turned the computer back on and went to Custom Scan, "Scan Schedule" and set it to Stay on and it finished and stayed on. You may also... Is your Win 10 install a clean install or the quick install from Windows Update? get rid of norton! Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

But it shuts down about 8-10 minutes into the scan. Things happen. I only started the full system scan manually. CHKDSK is a command-line tool used to scan and repair volumes on the hard disk for physical problems such as bad blocks. AVG gave a pop up saying it found a trojan horse, but when I tried to run the scan to find it, the scan never found it. this laptop is 10 days old.... Tried it in Safe mode and it isolated and removed the "threat" but when I rebooted it was back again.

I don't know what's causing this or what to do about it, but I've experimented enough with it that I know conclusively that it's definitely the full system scan that incurs I rebooted and tried again, but the same message came up that the installation process could not go through.
