I would go with a fresh format/install when you get the new CPU and cooler. Once the command prompt is open type shutdown /s. I also saw installing with drivers in a floppy disk, the option of F6. Windows Vista is running ok (I figure out that first time I didn't install properly mobo chipset drivers).
I put it by an open window (its like -20C outside) and its working, but i cant exactly leave it by an open window all the time.
