It works when connected to my other laptop, and I know the usb port isn't dead because it works when other devices such as my mouse are connected to it. What may be the problem? I've been searching online and have seen many things where it says to create new partitions, but from what I understand that will delete all the data on the existing drive, Parted Magic And if you can't, try Parted Magic's drive diagnostic program, Disk Health.
