Now, I don't know if that is the issue, but it has been working for me to be able to start my pc again. If it's still hot (over 70), check that the fans are running. It has been happening for the last 5 Nvidia driver updates, so I would not consider that matter as relevant. It takes less than a minute and is completely free! Maybe cleaning of the PC is required, including the CPU fan. Try cleaning and removing any dust from the components, motherboard, heatsink, fans etc.

Even when I try to reformat by reinstalling windows xp, it will just shut off. to start games with wifi off, you willneed to modify your registry settings to fake out game explorer. It was no heating issue, just a malfunction in the PSU, and when the GPU asked for most resources it just made the whole thing black out.
