My reason for thinking this is because the only time my computer gets hot is when I play the games. you need to get a metal base that you can put your laptop on, it lets you adjust the angle so that the base of the laptop isn't near any surface, The problem does seem to be power related, and I was alluding to that earlier, I don't think the OP has tested the system with a different power supply yet.
