Man, I love the internet!!! Laptop Shuts Down During Virus Scan I thought that was odd. Only in Windows XP. It would not shut down in DOS or from a Linux boot disk...

I tried this and everytime it would get to the 6th would shut down. It shuts off without warning when I try to do a virus scan. youre trying to do the right thing by virus scanning - props for that, homie. Also keep in mind, there could be other factors here than viruses.
