In addition, Windows treats file ownership and security differently, depending on what user you are and whether you have full administrative privileges. I'm sure there is a more technical way to fix it, but you'd probably have to contact MS. There are other methods to the one I posted, but this one is the most straightforward, just a line of text into the Command Prompt. have a peek here

I can do a reset but was hoping to avoid having to reinstall everything. That also went away with this fix. I have followed numerous instructions to "fixit" but none have worked. I've installed Win7 on several boxes and have never had to do that.

All I have to do is turn off that immensely annoying UAC. Most every thing I copied over was photographs and files related to Lightroom.
