swap outlets Reboot. If it doesn't, then it could still be a driver or system service, but that will be more difficult to troubleshoot... This has been a problem at work for months. I have to switch off the power.

Now, check all your power connections Pop the battery back in and plug it in, is it still doing the boot loop? I wasn't comfortable with that. I can hold the button down and it'll keep turned off, but when I let it off, the same thing happens.
Join the community here, it only takes a minute. Following that, you can tweak the setting the way you wish. There must be a setting somewhere that tells the computer to power on automatically when the power comes back on after an electrical shortage. It takes about the same time to shut down as Win7 did. You can usually see the power button light go out. Pc wont stay on, truns off shortly after startup solved Computer won't stay on My Wifi won't stay connected it come on and go right back off. A friend of mine who had the same problem says it is because the opening procedure does not complete thus it re runs.
It's a useful option when you use your computer as a server though it seems to be more of a hassle to you.

Report johncar- Jan 22, 2012 at 05:34 AM I had not seen this until now when I told I had a reply. To solve that i found i had to give the administrator a password. The screen does go blank but I can hear the hard disk spinning for almost a whole minute and I can see the LED indicator flashing. Most of the time, you have to hit F2 at the boot screen.
